Vulnerability can be tough to reconcile. Being a queer body poses threat to people who do not understand or are somehow threatened by queer and gay romance. This series is about vulnerable intimacy and the freedom of expression of two queer lovers in the face of trauma. Having not known the models prior to this shoot, we met up and talked at length about personal traumas, what queer identity means to us, and how difficult it can be to express vulnerability. In talking and forming trust, the three of us collaboratively constructed these images of exploring personal spaces and navigating identity.
